Announcement new partner DJE II

Hello! Since June 2023 the project Deaf Journalism Europe has started. Up until now six organisations in six European countries have worked together to provide daily news and in-depth coverage of various issues, all in national sign languages and International Sign.

This project will expire in May this year. The new round of project applications is already open and we very much want DJE to continue! DJE II is expected to start in November 2025 and the deadline to apply for this project is 27 February 2025.

In DJE II we will cover daily news, cooperate on transnational articles and conduct different projects to bring the Deaf community closer to news and journalism.

Time to find new project partners! The project partners for DJE II are: Turkoois, Teckenbro, manua, Visualbox and DeafStudio.

We are looking for TWO new project partners to add to this consortium.

Would your organisation be interested to join DJE II?

It is possible that your organisation already do news in sign language on volunteering basis or is still very small and needs expansion. Or your organisation is already experienced in media and supports the idea of accessible information for all Deaf people and want to set up a news organisation.

Then apply! Please follow these steps to apply.

  1. Look at the requirements below. Can you follow all the items?
  2. Fill in Form I with your contact details
  3. Fill in Form II where you explain how you meet the requirements. Write in English. Add for every question a movie in International Sign (add a link to YouTube or another video player to the answer). Only answers in BOTH English and International Sign will be accepted.
  4. Send all the forms as PDF-format to dennis@turkoois.eu. The deadline of submission is February 1st, 23:59 (CET). Late submissions will not be accepted.
